Events at Melin Llan
Events have operated at Melin Llan for nearly 10 years, in 2016 public events began to run but the audience was limited at the request of our then neighbours. Over the course of the next couple of years our event offerings will expand.
Although the lockdown periods significantly delayed our future plans, we installed a car park to enable our future plans and worked on the gardens to create an enjoyable space to welcome you to.
In 2023, events operated by Not Too Shabby events will restart with Bass In The Woods, a mini festival which was originally restricted to students only. It is a day of music performed by DJ’s and occasionally bands with a focus on providing new artists a stage to perform in a setting more appealing to that which is available in town based venues.
In Summer 2023 we will see further editions of an event titled ‘Rum and Bass’ which is an outdoor event where background music is played and cocktails are served, this event will pave the way for our ‘Sunny day beer garden’, which will see the venue being open to the public as a beer garden taking advantage of the near all day sun the venue benefits from. With beer gardens in Swansea few and far between, we’re sure this will be a great addition to the local area.
Our future plans include drink festivals, we’re not quite sure what yet – but possibly a cider festival with bands and so forth playing.
Follow our social media accounts to keep up to date, and if you’re interested in music events, check out Not Too Shabby events who will regularly host music events at the venue.
Private Hire
If you’re interested in hiring the venue for a function, please get in touch by emailing us, hello@melinllan.net. We haven’t yet established our full policies on private hire quite yet, but we have welcomed some test events including a hen party and biker group which were successful and are open to discussions.
